- Divide students into pairs.
Step
1. Prepare the mold - Make 2 simple same size frames with wood sticks .Cut a piece of plastic needlepoint canvas and staple it to one of the wood frames
2.Prepare Shredded paper - You can use many kinds of scrap paper for making the basic paper pulp, Cut paper into thin strips and then place the pieces into water .
3. Soak the shredded paper - Soak the paper for at least 15 minutes, hard paper needs more time to soak.(You can blend the paper either
4. Set up your workspace - Place a shallow bucket in front of you which is large enough to put into the mold. Spread a dry dish towel next to tray.
5. Pour the pulp - Pour blended pulp into the bucket ,then add water and coffee powder into the bucket. Place the mold with canvas(canvas on top) under another mold. Hold your molds and put them into the water . Shake the molds evenly in the bucket until it's covered with pulp, lift the mold and tilt a bit to let more of the water drain off.
6. Remove the mold - First, absorb the water on the sheet mold softly with a sponge. Then, Set one side of the sheet mold on the dish towel, then flip the mold over completely . Lift the frame of the mold, put plastic needle point canvas on top and press firmly with a sponge to flatten the paper and get rid of the remaining water .
7. Let Paper Dry - Lift the canvas, with one hand at each end, pick up the damp piece of finished paper, and set it on a board. Cover the paper with paper towel and then iron it for a few minutes until it's half dried. Put the paper aside and wait for a few hours until it's dry.
